This Friday, February 4th, the Park Avenue Gallery at Art and Frame of Falls Church will be pleased to present our latest exhibition: Traveling By Brush!  We feature the work of Margaret Huddy, who paints watercolor landscapes of scenic vistas from around the world.  Focusing on the architectural, monumental, and natural beauties of sites across the globe, her small landscapes are typically painted on location in true plein air style.  The artist has also maintained a studio at the Torpedo Factory in Arlington, Virginia since 1981.  It is here that she creates her larger works.

As Margaret describes of herself, "An artist can not simply choose a style; he or she has an innate sensitivity that precludes choice.  I realize now that I was a landscape painter before I ever picked up a brush."  With over fifty years of experience as a plein air landscape painter, she has truly become a master of her craft, and continues to evolve.  Her focus on capturing the qualities of light in a setting as well as conveying and enhancing the sense of color comes through in every piece.  She presents not just images of places, but full impressions of a foreign atmosphere.  As she explains, "Painting is a universal language that transcends all boundaries."
