Artist Profile:  Al Krachman
Mar 4, 2011 --

This FIRSTfriday, March 4th, Art and Frame of Falls Church's Park Avenue Gallery is featuring "Wild Things of Spring," a collection of wildlife photography spanning from Alaska to the Everglades as captured by photographer Al Krachman.  This photography seeks to capture wildlife in action, such as birds in flight.  It was this interest in capturing moments of action that inspired Al to call his photography operation Freebird Imaging!

Al Krachman was inspired and trained in the art of photography by his father, Leonard, who was an accomplished travel photographer.  Al himself started out doing photography at rock concerts, shifting later to a focus on wildlife and landscapes.  He also shifted from traditional darkroom photography to the digital media, studying and experimenting with digital photo manipulation in Adobe Photoshop.  This led him to address composition differently, sometimes taking photographs with the intent of using only a specific component within a greater photo composite.  Several pieces in this show demonstrate his work with digital photo manipulation.

So, come by tonight from 6-8 pm to see the opening of Al's show, with an artist talk at around 7:10 pm!  As always, FIRSTfriday is free of charge with plenty of fun to be had and free refreshments!  Al's work will be on display all through March, so stop by anytime to have a look.
